Teachers and Training -To become an Iyengar yoga teacher typically takes 5 to 7 year for the first certificate.
Iyengar teachers are highly trained professionals who must undergo annual re-evaluation to maintain their teaching licence. To progress through all the certificate could take 20 to 30 years.

An Iyengar Yoga Class - In each class a focus on precision and correct body alignment in the performing of each posture is emphasized. The Iyengar teaching program is very carefully designed so that students can progress from beginner to intermediate and beyond safely and according to their personal development.

Props - During a class props may be used in recognition that each 'body' is different and to adapt poses to the individual. Props can also be used by the experienced student to advance their practice.
